and let him know. We need all the help we can get to improve our field.

Gotta Fly
Message from the President
Hey everyone! I hope this email finds everyone doing well!!!
Spring has sprung and the weather is allowing us to get out there and Fly! (for a change). We've also been doing a little work at the field as of late... Rick Dun has been busting his butt at the field working on the electrical. We now have power at all buildings and the frequency board. He is planning to add a couple of receptacles to the radio impound rack as well. That way you can charge them there if you prefer. We hired a grading company, Jason Kent Pipeline and Grading, to level out the far side and extend both ends of the runway including the future grass strip on the backside of the concrete runway. This should create a more forgiving landing area specially coming from the right on approach. Hopefully this will bring in a few more pilots piloting the larger planes as well. Our next project is water. We now have permission to run water from an existing water meter! Awesome, knowing those things run around $1,500.00 to have installed let alone taking forever to get. With that done we will have to have a member work day to help do the finishing touches raking up rocks and polishing off the area to seed. If anyone knows of someone with a power rake even better! *hint hint* Those interested in helping out with some good old elbow grease please let me know… more hands makes for less work and its not fair to rely on the same handful of guys that always come through when the club needs something done. We are able to keep the membership costs to a minimum thanks to these guys and its hardly fair that we keep going to the same well. Our lawn fee has gone up a little as well… $10.00 per month plus the addition of having water will also be another monthly fee I'm guessing of around $12.00 per month. So lets all pitch in and knock this job out! J I am thinking of having this work day on or around the first and/or second of May.
Our membership appreciation day came and went thanks to poor weather last fall unfortunately. So, my plan is this… We can have our Fun -Fly and Member Appreciation Day at the same time! The idea being the first part of the day being Member Appreciation Day with free food and door prizes. 8:am start to 10:30 am . Then Begin the Fun-Fly at 11:00am through 4:00pm . Help will be needed for this event as well and again some fresh faces coming through for the club would be greatly appreciated! I would like to hold this event June the fifth with the sixth as a back-up date. The Membership Appreciation Day is RSVP only! We have to do this so we can best gauge the amount of food we need to bring. So let me know if this date is suitable for ya'll ok!
Lastly we are going to change the lock combination on the gate at the end of the month, so those who have not yet renewed their membership need to whip on into Stan's and get that out of the way ok! Oh yeah, the combination for the gate is the same combination for the power at the field. The main timer is inside the main disconnect panel cover. Adjust the time you wish to have it on and that’s it!
For those of you who didn't know we now have a forum linked on our web page. I am still looking for someone who is interested in taking on the web page servicess for the club so anyone interested please let me know. Thanks! Here is the link to the Club Web Page and Forum; http://www.cowetaradiocontrol.com/index.html http://bbssystem.allisonhobbies.com/
Well, I guess that's it for now… if anyone has any ideas they would like to share just send me an email or drop me a line. My phone number is 678-524-9524 and it is also on the membership renewal form. Only $4.99 per minute or $29.99 per month. Hehe… I look forward to an awesome season of flying and friendship! See ya'll at the field!
